INTRODUCTION The goal of this guide is to bring together a cogent, systematic overview of the issues pertaining to the health of girls and women as presented in the Beijing Platform for Action adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women.' In addition to the issues raised in the health section, there are numerous other related matters that have a profound effect on women's health. This guide attempts to highlight the most important areas for action for the health care sector and provides references to all relevant paragraphs in the original document. It is aimed predominantly at international and intergovernmental organizations working in collaboration with NGOs.
